I am a facilitator, mom, nurse, counselor, lifelong learner, and at times an instructor of art, music, and drama lessons. My name is Dana Cook, and I am an elementary school teacher. I previously taught fourth-grade at a performing arts magnet school in Mobile County. I'm currently beginning a new job as a gifted teacher in the same school system. I am majoring in the Gifted and Talented program because I want to master allowing students to accelerate their learning to the best of my capability.
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. In 2006, when my son was two years old, I decided to make that dream a reality and returned to school. I graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2011. I have been working on improving my teaching skills through professional development and self-assessments each year since.
